'People are afraid' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal are now many people's favorites to win the Premier League during this term.

Consider their outcomes against Fulham and Crystal Palace compared to those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a primary factor why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title goal.

They rank top for clean sheets (6), goals conceded (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their danger from dead balls is well known, but rival sides still struggle to contain the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just wary of them and it is great to see."

Title Credentials

What is especially impressive about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they keep winning, their traditional rivals aren't faring so well. This marks the first time at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having spent around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and possessing the most resilient defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and pundits have characterized Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now operating with belief and resolve.
